My chosen track and artist:
I chose ‘Nitten Nitti’, meaning nineteen ninety in
Norwegian, by Bjørn Torske.
Bjørn Torske, born in Tromsø, Norway in 1971, is a house
music producer, who has also released music under the names ‘Ismistik’, ‘Krisp’
and ‘Open Skies’. Previous albums of his include:
Nedi Mayra - 1998
Trøbbel - 2001
Feil Knapp – 2007
Kokning – 2011, which Nitten Nitti is from
I found this song after spending a lot of time researching
dance music that I could use for my music video as I do not usually listen to
this genre. I had a pre-existing idea of what I wanted for the visual aspect of
my music video, therefore I just needed a song to fit it, and I was certain I
wanted it to something lively and energetic. When I finally heard it, I knew
straight away that this would be a great song to use due to how unique the
sound is.
I decided to base my music video on ‘Nitten Nitti’ due to
the originality of it, as well as the strong beat it has, which influenced me
on ways I could make my music video to beat. The song makes me think of bright
colours, summer, whilst also giving retro vibes, and embodying a sense of fun.
As there are no lyrics, and the song has a constant beat, I
do not have to worry too much about the three-minute mark as I can easily stop
the track or transfer the ending of it onto the ending of my three-minute music
video.
